Henry Wade – Fall 2000

Departed this Earth to be in the arms of our Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the age of 32. Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend who has touched many with his laughter, smile and love. He will be remembered most for his angelic voice, open mind and most impor- tantly his big heart. Henry leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents Edward and Edith; brothers, Edward Jr., Louis, Aaron and Kevin; sisters, Michelle, Jennifer (Tim), Monica (Jason), Crystal (Brian); nephew and nieces, great-nephews grandmothers and a host of aunts, un- cles, cousins and friends.

Mark Thompson – Spring 1983

Mark Thompson, age 50, passed away at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay on Friday, January 17, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. Mark was born in Green Bay on August 23, 1963, son of the late Marshall Thompson and Doris (Hansen) Thompson who still resides in Green Bay. Mark was a 1982 graduate of the Ashwaubenon High School, and received a de- gree from Carroll College in chemistry, and a degree from UW-Green Bay in computer science. Mark had a variety of interests. As a singer, he was a member of the church choir at the vari- ous churches he attended over the years, and was recently a member of newVoices. He loved history, especially war history, and was an avid player of strategy games. He enjoyed reading fantasy novels, Star Trek, and going to the Rennaisance Faire, where he was introduced to his future wife, Marcia. The couple married in Appleton on May 6, 2000.

Rev. Dr. Emerson Abendroth

The Rev. Dr. Emerson I. “Abbey” Abendroth, 92, Overland Park, KS passed away October 30, 2013. Emerson I. Abendroth was the son of Irvin and Ethel Abendroth. He was born in Cam- bria, Wisconsin June 22, 1921 where he spent his early years. He graduated from Cambria High School. He had a B.A. degree from Carroll College, a B.D. degree from McCormick Theo- logical Seminary, an M.A. and ED.D. from Columbia University/ Union Theological Seminary. He was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister by Madison Presbytery in 1945. He was commis- sioned as a U.S. Navy Chaplain and served in both the Navy and Marine Corps, the latter in China. He married Juliann Davies in 1945 and they have been married more than 68 years. He dearly loved his family and his home. After his Navy Chaplaincy, he began an extended career in ministry in higher education.

Gary Hartnett

Gary Paul Hartnett, 58, passed away peacefully July 30, 2013 at his home in Mount Vernon, Washington. Gary was born November 5, 1954 in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He was the son of Glen and Marion Hartnett. He graduated in 1972 from Columbus High School in Marshfield, Wisconsin, graduated in 1976 from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and worked on his graduate degree in horticulture at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. While in college, he was affiliated with the Delta Rho Upsilon Fraternity. He married Kathleen Nicolaus on August 20, 1977 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 1979, they moved to the Skagit Valley. Gary had been employed as an operations manager at Skagit Gardens for over 32 years when he retired in 2011.

Al Thompson

Allan E. Thompson, 76, of Leola, PA passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Quarryville Pres- byterian Retirement Community, Quarryville, PA. Born in Poynette, Wisconsin, Allan was the son of Blanche (Ward) and William Wayne Thompson. Allan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis, his daughters Heidi Thompson and Heather Sievers, wife of John, son Allan Thompson, Junior, and two granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth and Rebecca Claire Sievers. Allan was pre- ceded in death by brothers David, Douglas, Paul and sister Audrey Lueptow. Allan was a graduate of Carroll University, Waukesha, WI, and earned his MBA from the University of Chi- cago. After graduation from Carroll, he served two years in the Army. Upon leaving the ser- vice, he went to work for R.R. Donnelley and Sons in Chicago. In 1978 he was named Vice President and Division Director of Financial Printing in New York and Lancaster. At this time, Allan and family moved to Lancaster, PA. Allan was a loving father and grandfather, always ready to offer a lap. He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, a lover of bluegrass music and a guitar-playing country boy.
